Coral Triangle

Spanning Indonesia, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Solomon Islands and Timor-Leste, this extraordinary area holds the richest concentration of iridescent corals, fish, crustaceans, mollusks and marine plants in the world. Labyrinths of limestone reefs, extensive sea grass meadows and coastal mangrove forests attract sea turtles and giants of the sea such as humpback whales to feed, breed and rest in the rich and sheltered waters.

The problem is, the coral triangle is in a sorry condition now. It is polluted by sewage discharges, dynamite fishing and there is a strain on the marine resource as there is growing population living on the coastal lines.

6 countries in the coral triangle are trying to save the corals by setting more reef protected areas, giving them a breather from human activities.

Let's hope all plans go accordingly and the corals are saved. Friends, let's go diving soon. Even if the plans to save the fishes and the corals, I project to the see a vast difference in the waters. Hopefully, we are still seeing corals and not wasteland.

Come on, it is to our advantage that the coral triangle is so near to Singapore. We have to plan frequent trips man. Underwater, its a different world altogether.
God bless the waters.

Polaroid to cease operations

Polaroid has announced that they are ceasing operations of manufacturing the film and cameras. Ah, what an end to the iconic photography instrument. I have to lament that technology is really pushing some cool, vintage stuff to an end.

With that, I have edited a few pictures Polaroid style and is planning to lay my hands on one Polaroid camera. The camera is dirt-cheap but the film is expensive.

Check out this cool blog below.

Pictures from the Singapore Marathon 2007

Taken with Sony Ericsson K850i. With Poh Lee, my younger brother in his first marathon, WeiBin, myself, Johnson and Kit(from left to right).

The important thing is to run easy. Remember: Anyone with a willing mind can accomplish anything with passion.

Amazing what a little software could help in creating a big effect at the finishing line. The picture quality is really bad man.

Globalization

Definition of globalisation
Question: What is the truest definition of Globalization?
Answer: Princess Diana's death.

WHY?
An English princess with an Egyptian boyfriend crashes in a French tunnel, driving a German car with a Dutch engine, driven by a Belgian who was drunk on Scottish whisky, (check the bottle before you change the spelling), followed closely by Italian Paparazzi, on Japanese motorcycles; treated by an American doctor, using Brazilian medicines.

This was originally sent to you by a Canadian, using Bill Gates's technology,
and you're probably reading this on your computer, that uses Taiwanese chips, and a Korean monitor, assembled by Bangladeshi workers in a Singapore plant, transported by Indian lorry-drivers, hijacked by Indonesians, unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen, and trucked to you by Chinese illegals.....

Digital Lifestyle

Does your digital lifestyle get the better of you? Here are 10 signs.

1. You can't sit through a movie without having at least one device on your body beep or buzz.
2. You sign off messages by putting ":-)" next to your name.
3. You wake up at 3 am to go to the toilet and check your email on the way back to bed.
4. You have never played solitaire with a real deck of cards.
5. Your dog has it own home page.
6. You try entering your password on the microwave.
7. You remember all your friends by their MSN nicknames.
8. Instead of calling you to come back for dinner, your mum sends you an email invitation.
9. You tell your friends you broke up with your girlfriend/boyfriend, because you upgraded to a new one.
10. When your teacher asks what sound a mouse makes, you answer, "click, ma'am!" instead of "squeak".

Transformers Ringtone

At this moment, the coolest thing I have would be the Transformers transforming sound. It is a short 1 second clip..so works perfectly for my sms tone.

Singapore Airlines Online Reservation System

Our National Airline..Singapore Airlines has an online Reservation System that is fast and effective. But it is being downplayed by the lack of a function for the user to change the Iternary easily online.

I had to call their reservation line and wait for almost 20 minutes before getting to a human voice(It was all being digitised before getting to the operator). But I must say that once gotten through to the operator, the lady was helpful and could immediately retify my problem. It was hassle-free, not considering the long wait to get to the operator.

Thank god. I think Singapore Airlines (SIA) still deserve to be the best Airline in the world. And last year, Singapore Changi Airport was the best Airport. Let's hope that Singapore Changi Airport will it again this year.
