Schedule for February 2007

Man,

What a february this will be. Having exams and assignment submission on the 9th, another exam on the 15th busy early month because of company operations, all the way build up to the lunar new year. No time to celebrate 14th feb ( no partner to celebrate with though) as i probably be mugging for my 15th feb's exam.

Come what may, I wish study group 4 all the best in the coming exams.

LIFE, as it seems, exams will be a chapter of my life, after this, it may be work and more work.

Speed Regime (running)

Guys,

Like to share 2 regimes that could improve your running speed.

  1. Running 12 sets of 800metres (2 rounds of the track) with a interval of 1 minutes and 30 seconds. You could start with a comfortable timing of say 1 minutes 45 seconds per round which makes out to be 3 minutes and 30 seconds per 800 meters.
  2. Running 3 sets of 1.2km (3 rounds of the track) with a interval rest of 1 minutes and 30 seconds.
  • 4 sets of 800 meters (2 rounds of the track)
  • Lastly, 8 sets of 400 meters (1 round of the track).
  • Remember to maintain each round with the same target that you set out, say 1 minute and 45 seconds per round. Of course you could start off with a faster target time or slower target time depending on your progress.
  • Do your math to see how much time you need to complete each set.
Finally, I would like to remind you guys to constantly hydrate yourself throughout the regimes and if possible bring hydration salts with you during training. they come in handy.

Usb Rocket Launcher

USB Rocket Launcher
To defend your desktop from those pesky impostors, all you need to do is install the software provided and plug in the Missile Launcher to the USB port on your notebook or desktop computer. The Missile Launcher holds three harmless foam missiles, the direction and angle of launch can be adjusted to 45 degrees or a full 180 rotation by either moving the arrows on your keyboard or moving the cursor of your mouse and missile command can be found on your desktop. We strongly advise you to crank up the volume on your computer as the sound effects are pretty impressive! Once you have located your target, the Missile Launcher fires the three foam missiles one after another when you thump the 'Fire' button! The missiles are completely harmless; you needn’t worry about causing any serious harm to your victims!

Driving Confessions

2006 had been bad year for my driving. I am lucky enough to have got 2 rides that I take to work and for play. The Mitsubishi (Grandis) and Mitsubushi (L300) are my current rides.

So, I wish to end the curse of my bad luck driving in 2006. In July 2006, I remember it was a saturday morning and I was driving my van to the bank when I was caught into accident with this toyota camry. Man, was I shocked. After the bump into the boot of the camry. My clutch was spoilt and my van could not move. And the central lock system was damaged too. Thanks to the housewife who suddenly e-brake at the traffic lights.

Come late november 2006, the weather in Singapore was wet and it is raining quite frequently. This time round, I was in my van and it bumped into a nissan latio. Man, it drop the ultimatum on me. I was so shell-shock my heart stopped beating for a second.

Well, when a man does something wrong, he have to face the music and when a man achieves something great, he must be ready to take the credit for it too.

So I sign off here wishing that 2007 will be good driving year for me(no more accidents) and friends could enjoy more nights of joy-rides with me, going places and chatting heartily while I'm driving.

Driving

I really should get an entry about my driving in my blog.

Since 2002, it has been 5 years since i got my licence and have been driving since. I would rate myself as a cautious driver whenever I do have any passengers on board.

I tend to drive more slowly and pay more attention to the road when I had passengers on board. I do not want endanger anyone.

When I was still a green driver, I went for a trip to Thailand, Koh Samui, and my group of friends decided to rent a jeep. And I was the driver, proudly the first of the group and the only licenced person in the group. But the embarassing part was when we were trying to go uphill somewhere in Koh Samui, the beautiful beach island, and I could not get the jeep uphill till we managed to engage one kind "ang mo" to help us engage 4wd. After that, driving round small koh samui island was a breeze.

That's the part for the early days of my driving and driving is a large part of my life now that I drive around and going public is really stranger to me.

Rie Fu _ Life is like a boat

Rie Fu _ Ending theme from Bleach Anime

This is one song that has got special touch to me as the singer combined her soulful with english and japanese. It is the lyrics that really touched me.

Lyrics:

Nobody knows who I really am
I never felt this empty before
And if I ever need someone to come along,
Whoa€?s gonna comfort me, and keep me strong?

We are all rowing the boat of fate
The waves keep on coming and we cana€?t escape
But if we ever get lost on our way
The waves would guide you through another day

dooku de iki o shiteru toomei ni natta mitai
kudayami ni omoe dakedo mekaku shisarete tadake

inori o sasagete atarashii hi o matsu
asayaka ni hikaru umi sono hate made

Nobody knows who I really am
Maybe they just dona€?t give a damn
But if I ever need someone to come along
I know you would follow me, and keep me strong

hito no kokoro wa utsuriyuku mukedashiteku naru
tsuki wa mada atarashii shuuki de mune o tsureteku

And every time I see your face
The ocean heaves up to my heart
You make me wanna strain at the oars, and soon
I can see the shore

Oh, I can see the shore
When will I see the shore?

I want you to know who I really am
I never thought Ia€?d feel this way towards you
And if you ever need someone to come along,
I will follow you, and keep you strong

tabi wa mada tsuzuiteku odayakana hi mo
tsuki wa mata atarashii shuuki de ume o terashidasu

inori o sasagete atarashii hi o matsu
asayaka ni hikaru umi sono hate made

And every time I see your face
The ocean heaves up to my heart
You make me wanna strain at the oars, and soon
I can see the shore

Unmei no huneoko gi nami wa tsugi kara tsuki e to watashi-tachi o sou kedo
Sore mo suteki na tabi ne, dore mo suteki na tabi ne

Warren Buffet _ World's second richest man

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:

1) He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!

2) He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.

3) He still lives in the same small 3 bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, that he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.

4) He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people around him.

5) He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.

6) His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis.

7) He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any of your share holder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.

8) He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch television.

9) Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became a devotee of Warren Buffet.

10) Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk.

11) His advice to young people: Stay away from credit cards and invest in yourself.

Amazing individual indeed!!

Backpacking trip to Tibet

Guys,

Yes...Stuart, Jackie, Benny... My Dad had given me the vote of confidence and he actually encouraged me to go backpacking. My mum was thinking.. "Huh! You want to go for a 2 months' trip?"

We had actually set out last year - October 2006 that we want to go for a backpacking trip and had agreed on October 07. But this year, we welcome Benny into the picture and had agreed upon on may 2008 to set out for the trip.

Hope we are going to do it and not just all talk. I really want to go and travel and see the world. That's why I had actually wanted to go ahead with the trip whether my parents give their approval. After all, I'm 23 this year. But with the support of my dad, I feel more comfortable.

So, I sign off here, Tibet and China here I come. Power la, got Beijing 2008 Olympic too, we will plan to take a walk there.

Avid marathon runner

I'm almost shy to call myself one. But I do think i certainly have the passion to do another one.

And guess what, I actually set myself to go to Hong Kong for a marathon. From singapore to polluted Hong kong for a marathon. One friend call me crazy. But this is really the result of the keen persuasrion of my running buddy.

And my modest training have not stop since after a 2 weeks rest after last december 06 marathon.

So wish me luck on this one. I do want blisters again but I certainly am hoping for a better timing. Life is about challenges. ain't?

17 Jan 2007 a world around struck by natural disasters

17 jan 2007

today as i read the news on the papers, watch the news on channel newsasia. what stunned me was the natural disasters around the world. as everyone in singapore would have known, our neighbour, malaysia is facing major floods in kota tinggi and parts of northern malaysia.

In singapore, florist wholesalers along thomson road experienced as heavy downpour swept their flpwers and they face losses.

In California today. it is freezing. (pic:fresh snow covering evergreen trees)the orange plantation at a sub-zero temperatures and oranges have froze on the trees. so its orange ice-blended is "the" drink in california now. but their people are troubled as transportation is a hindrance now.42 are dead in the winter storms.

In Australia however, it is soaring temperatures and as I write, the melbourne forest are burning. what a constrast.Wildfires destroyed eight homes in Australia's southern Victoria state overnight after cutting power lines and plunging parts of the capital Melbourne into darkness. temperature are as high as 40 degree celsuis.

it is important to be high and dry at the comfort of your own home. but imagine the power of nature. when the rain covers your house and you will be wet and grumpy.

A blog 2 years late

For the blog name. close friends may not even know why I'm call crazyhorse. Armyhorse would know.

I have been wanting to have a blog I could call my own for 2 Years now..so today in 2007 Jan. I decided to have an account with blogger so I could download all my thoughts and afterthoughts so that people could read it(wonder if anyone will be interested) and for myself to come back to read it. So it serves as a diary for me too.

And to keep my writing skills current.
